Nominations are now open to members of the public to identify outstanding individuals and groups who have contributed within the following eight categories: Art & Culture, Environment/Animals, Children & Youth, Older Persons and Disability, Ethnic Minorities, Sports, Community Health, and Outstanding Individual Achievement. The deadline for this year’s nominations is Friday 21st October, 2022.

Anthony McArdle, Secretariat of Louth PPN, said: “In 2022, we will again be celebrating the dedicated volunteers across the country with the Louth Community and Voluntary Awards. All members of the public are invited to participate in nominating to ensure that no volunteer goes unrecognised.”

This year’s awards ceremony will be held in Bellingham Castle on Thursday 10th November, 2022. Nominated finalists and 2021 award recipients will be in attendance at the event along with members of Louth County Council senior management, three municipal chairs and secretariat members.

Last year, the Red Door Project, located in Drogheda was a recipient of the PPN Community & Voluntary Award for their work in the area of Public Health. They have recently been nominated as one of the finalists for the Pride of Place awards, due to be announced in January 2023. Outcomers, located in Drogheda and Dundalk, also received an award at last year’s PPN Community & Voluntary awards for their work in the field of Children and Youth.
