Community Climate Action Fund

Louth County Council - Community Climate Action Fund - Launching Wednesday 28th October 2025.

Louth County Council are delighted to announce the commencement of Phase 2 of the Community Climate Action Fund for County Louth, with €604,000 allocated to the county.

 

Phase 2 of the Community Climate Action Programme was launched by Minister for Climate, Energy and the Environment, Darragh O'Brien 

Minister O'Brien announces almost €27 million for community climate action

 

It will remain open to applications from community groups within County Louth from Wednesday 28th October 2025 – Wednesday 23rd December at 12:00pm

 

Successful groups awarded funding under this programme will deliver community level climate action projects over the next three years. These projects will deliver a real climate benefit by reducing carbon emissions.  

 

There are five themes under which community groups can apply for funding, including:

  • Community Energy
  • Travel
  • Food and Waste 
  • Shopping and Recycling
  • Local Climate and Environmental Action. 

 

Community groups are encouraged to try and include as many themes as possible within their application.

 

 

The three funding streams available are as follows: 

 

  • small scale projects <€20,000;

 

  • medium scale projects €20,000-€50,000 

 

  • large scale projects €51,000-€100,000.

 

Up to 100% funding is available to community groups to carry out projects that deliver a direct climate benefit within the funding guidelines of the Community Climate Action Programme.

 

This is a competitive application process and applicants are assessed and reviewed under criteria by which their projects will be put forward for consideration to the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment (DCEE)
