The National Biodiversity Action Plan Fund 2021

This scheme funds actions that support the objectives of the NBAP 2017 - 2021. Only local authorities can apply to it. If you have a biodiversity project in mind that you think might be suitable, please contact heritage@louthcoco.ie. The scheme closes to applications on Friday 26th March 2021. 

Community Monuments Fund 2022

The Community Monuments Fund provides funding for the conservation and presentation of Recorded Monuments. Only local authorities or State agencies can apply for the funding but they can do this on behalf of private owners and others who are looking after Recorded Monuments.

Applications to the Community Monuments Fund must be submitted by Tuesday 15th February 2022. If you are interested, contact heritage@louthcoco.ie ASAP. :

The fund has three Streams:

1. Stream 1 will offer grants up to €85,000 aimed at essential repairs and capital works for the conservation and repair of archaeological monuments. (Total €1,000,000 available)

2. Stream 2 will offer grants of up to €30,000 for development of Conservation Management Plans/Reports that are aimed at identifying measures for conservation of archaeological monuments and improving public access. (Total €550,000 available)

3. Stream 3 will offer grants of up to €30,000 for enhancement of access infrastructure and interpretation (including virtual/online) at archaeological monuments (including COVID 19 public health measures). (Total €450,000 available)

Farm and Community Biodiversity Initiative

This is a new initiative to support farming that protects and enhances biodiversity. Projects must exceed €50,000 and applications must be received, by email before midnight on Wednesday 31st March 2021.

2021 GLAS traditional farm building grant scheme is now open for applications

Are you a GLAS farmer with a traditional farm building that needs repairs? Grants are currently available but you need to act soon as the closing date is 5pm on Monday 5th April 2021.

Irish Walled Towns Network funding

Carlingford and Drogheda are both members of the Irish Walled Towns Network. The Network provides annual funding for the conservation of town defences and for their interpretation and promotion. Only local authorities can apply for the funding, which close to applications on Wednesday 31st March. If you have a project which you think might be suitable, please contact the Heritage Officer at heritage@louthcoco.ie
