Louth County Archives Service is located in a mid-19th century gaol building on the Ardee Road, Dundalk. It is a repository for the public and private archives of County Louth. The entrance is on the Ardee Road behind Dundalk Garda Station. (Please note that there is no access via the adjacent Machinery Yard). View the map showing our location.

Opening Hours: By appointment, preferably one week in advance (or more if travelling long-distance)

Mon – Wed: 10am – 1pm, 2pm – 4pm; Thur - Fri: 10am - 1pm

Visitors are required to search our Online Catalogue in advance to locate relevant item reference numbers; and to complete the Readers' Application Form on their first visit, after reading the Rules for Readers. Copying fees apply.
