Louth County Archives Service is a repository for the public and private archives of County Louth.  If you have a collection that you would like to donate to the County Archives we would be delighted to hear from you.

Location: The Archive is located in a refurbished mid-19th century gaol building situated behind Dundalk Garda Station. The entrance is via a pedestrian gate on the Ardee Road (please note that there is no access via the adjacent Machinery Yard). View the map showing our location.

Opening Hours: By appointment, preferably one week in advance (or more if travelling long-distance)

Mon – Wed: 10am – 1pm, 2pm – 4pm; Thur - Fri: 10am - 1pm

Visitors are required to search our Online Catalogue in advance to locate relevant item reference numbers; and to complete the Readers' Application Form on their first visit, after reading the Rules for Readers. Copying fees apply.
