Louth County Archives Service is a repository for the public and private archives of County Louth. If you have a collection that you would like to donate to the County Archives we would be delighted to hear from you. "The identification, preservation and availability of the valuable public and private archives of County Louth" Location: The Archive is located in a refurbished mid-19th century gaol building situated behind Dundalk Garda Station. The entrance is via a pedestrian gate on the Ardee Road (please note that there is no access via the adjacent Machinery Yard). View the map showing our location. Opening Hours: By appointment, preferably one week in advance (or more if travelling long-distance) Mon – Wed: 10am – 1pm, 2pm – 4pm; Thur - Fri: 10am - 1pm Visitors are required to search our Online Catalogue in advance to locate relevant item reference numbers; and to complete the Readers' Application Form on their first visit, after reading the Rules for Readers.
