Creative Interventions

Delivered by Louth Meath Education and Training Board (LMETB).

Creative Interventions began in June 2019 and finished in December 2021. The programme had a target of including 720 participants who would each complete 26 hours in training. The project exceeded its target, including over 900 participants.

Better relations were built through implementation of a creativity programme with specific target groups, for example - Children & Young People, new communities, minority faith groups such as the Muslim community, ex-political prisoners, and disadvantaged youth.

Courses and workshops were delivered in a number of schools and community settings in Louth. Courses included Intercultural Education, Quilt Making, IT Murals, Star Weaving for PEACE, and Music as a means of building better relations.

The programme received National attention when the Harps programme in Gaelscoil Dundalk ran in partnership with Music Generation Louth as part of its Reach Out Programme, was featured on TG4s Nuacht, on 09 January 2020.

Due to restrictions in place because of Covid 19, the closing event for this programme was held via Zoom on 10 December 2021. It included a beautiful Harps performance from Gaelscoil Dhún Dealgan.
