BUILDING AND FIRE REGULATIONS

From Monday 13th July 2020, Fire Safety Cert, Disability Access Cert, Regulation fire safety cert, revised fire safety certificate, 7 day notice and Dispensation/relaxation certs should be submitted online on the Building Control Management System  BCMS Portal.

You should fully complete the application, all roles must be accepted, upload all documents and make payment through the BCMS portal.  Payment must be made by the applicant.

In the event that you are unable to fully complete an application online, you can submit the application to the Building Control Office. Two copies of all documents and payment should be submitted to Building Control, Louth County Council, County Hall, Millennium Centre, Dundalk, Co Louth.

FEE EXEMPTIONS

Development works by certain organisations are exempt from paying fire certificate application fees (e.g. certain classes of voluntary organisations; not for profit accommodation of homeless persons).

Where a Fee Exemption Form is submitted, the applicant must detail how the proposed building is subject to the conditions of Section 22 of the Building Control Regulations 1997 – 2014.

      

Note that failure to comply with the Building Control Regulations could result in heavy penalties (Fines & Imprisonment) and difficulties when it comes to selling your property.
