Louth County Council Launches Roundabout Sponsorship Scheme

Louth County Council has announced the launch of a new Roundabout Sponsorship Scheme for 2026-2028, inviting businesses, organisations and individuals to partner in enhancing the visual appeal of key locations across the county while promoting their brand.

The three-year initiative, which runs until 2028, offers a unique opportunity for sponsors to raise their profile by supporting the maintenance and landscaping of 28 selected roundabouts and approach roads throughout County Louth, many of them located on high-traffic routes carrying significant volumes of daily traffic.

In return, sponsors will benefit from strategically placed signage at high-visibility locations, reaching both residents and the significant volume of visitors who travel through the county each year.

Proceeds generated through the scheme will be reinvested directly into the improvement and upkeep of the sponsored roundabouts, helping to create a more attractive and welcoming environment.

The sponsorship agreements will run for a period of three years, with fees starting from €6,000 for standard roundabouts and rising to €15,000 for larger, high-profile sites in key locations such as Dundalk, Drogheda and Ardee. Sponsorship will be awarded based on the highest offer received for each location, with demand expected to be strong given the prominence of many of the included sites.

The scheme presents a unique opportunity for local businesses to strengthen their presence within the community while aligning their brand with an initiative that enhances the county’s built environment. Participating organisations will benefit from year-round exposure, with signage visible 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and positioned in areas where thousands of motorists pass by.

Louth County Council will retain responsibility for the maintenance and landscaping of each roundabout over the sponsorship period, ensuring a consistent and high-quality presentation across all locations. Sponsors, however, will be responsible for producing their own signage, which must meet specified standards and receive prior approval before installation.

Expressions of interest are now being invited from parties wishing to sponsor one or more roundabouts. Full details of the scheme, including a list of available locations and application requirements, are available on the Louth County Council Consultation Portal at consult.louthcoco.ie.

Applicants must complete the official sponsorship submission form and submit it by email to roundaboutscheme@louthcoco.ie, with the closing date for applications at 4pm on Tuesday, 23 June 2026.
