Louth County Council Calls on Creatives to Light Up Culture Night 2026

Louth County Council is inviting individuals, artists, groups, venues and organisations across the county to get involved in Culture Night 2026, which takes place on Friday 18 September.

Culture Night is a national celebration of culture, creativity and the arts, offering free, welcoming events that encourage people to discover and engage with cultural activity in new and exciting ways. Louth County Council is now calling for proposals to avail of funding support through the Culture Night Event Fund 2026.

This year, two funding strands are available. The annual Culture Night fund, supported by Louth County Council and the Arts Council of Ireland, offers grants of up to €1,500 for free events taking place after 4pm on the night. An additional one-off funding strand, supported by Culture Ireland as part of Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union, offers grants of up to €1,000 for events exploring Irish culture and its relationship with the EU.

Arts Officer with Louth County Council, Moya Hodgers, said:

“Culture Night is a fantastic opportunity for people to experience creativity in their own communities. We’re encouraging anyone with an idea, whether you’re an individual artist, a community group or a venue, to get involved and bring something special to Louth’s Culture Night programme this year.”

Priority will be given to projects that reflect the cultural richness and diversity of Louth, engage new audiences, and encourage participation across all ages and communities.
