Louth County Council is calling on volunteer‑led groups across County Louth to apply for the 2026 Amenity Grant Scheme. This annual scheme provides essential financial assistance to residents’ associations, community groups, tidy towns organisations, and environmental groups throughout the county.

The grants support a wide range of local enhancement activities, including landscaping, planting, minor maintenance works, biodiversity initiatives, and environmental improvement projects in housing estates and community areas.

Welcoming the scheme, Cllr Seán Kelly, Cathaoirleach of Louth County Council said:

“Across County Louth, volunteers give countless hours to making their communities cleaner, greener, and more welcoming. The Amenity Grant Scheme is our way of recognising that commitment and helping groups continue the fantastic work they do year after year.”

The annual scheme forms an important part of the Council’s ongoing commitment to community development, climate action, and local engagement. By recognising and supporting the work of volunteers, Louth County Council aims to foster a more vibrant, resilient, and environmentally conscious county.

Speaking at the launch, Joanna Kelly, Director of Services at Louth County Council said:

“Volunteer groups like residents’ associations and tidy towns groups play a central role in building strong, sustainable, and connected communities and the Amenity Grant Scheme is an important part of our partnership with them.  By supporting grassroots initiatives we can strengthen local participation, enhance the environment, and contribute to positive development across the county.”

Applications for the 2026 Amenity Grant Scheme close on Friday, 15th March 2026. For eligibility criteria and details on how to apply, visit consult.louthcoco.ie or email community@louthcoco.ie.
