Topographic aerial surveys to start on 19th February

A geospatial contractor has been engaged by Louth County Council to provide topographic aerial surveys relating to the Carlingford and Greenore Flood Relief Scheme.

The surveys are due to start on Wednesday 19th February 2025.

The surveys to be conducted are non-intrusive and involve the flying of drones to determine the topography of the study area.

The data from this survey will be used to inform the modelling for potential development of future flood defences.

The area to be surveyed includes Carlingford Town, Greenore, Commons, and the entire coastline from north Carlingford to Whitestown inclusive.

Surveys will typically be carried out, weather and tide-dependent, over several weeks and will not require access to private property and lands. The geospatial contractor carrying out the surveys will carry proof of identification.
