Temporary Road Closure: Mount Avenue, Dundalk

Louth County Council hereby gives notice of its intention to temporarily close the below section of Mount Avenue to facilitate the construction of new ESB infrastructure.

  • Location: L-20018-80 Mount Avenue, Dundalk – from the junction with Castletown Road (R-934-0) to the junction with Carrickmacross Road (R-178-1)
  • When: Monday 18th August to Friday 12th September 2025

Diversions in place:

Traffic will be diverted via:

  • Castletown Road (R-934-0)
  • Ard Easmuinn (L-2000-540)
  • Carrickmacross Road (R-178-1) And vice versa for traffic travelling in the opposite direction.

Local access and emergency access will be maintained at all times.

This closure is in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 (Roads Regulations 1994).

Objections: Any person who wishes to object to this closure should submit their objection in writing (clearly marked 'Road Closure Objection') to the undersigned, or via Louth County Council’s Online Consultation Portal.
