SUMMARY OF SOCIAL HOUSING ASSESSMENTS 2022

PLEASE READ THIS NOTICE IF YOU ARE AN APPLICANT ON THE SOCIAL HOUSING WAITING LIST IN COUNTY LOUTH

The Housing Assessments Unit of Louth County Council will shortly commence a Summary of Social Housing Assessments in accordance with Section 21 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 2009.

  1. What is a Summary of Social Housing Assessments (SSHA)?
  2. The Summary of Social Housing Assessments 2022 is a review of those applicants for social housing supports that were qualified on the social housing waiting list with Louth County Council prior to 4th September 2021 and have not been fully re-assessed since then.
  3. How will Louth County Council contact relevant applicants?
  4. Louth County Council will write to the relevant applicants that were qualified on the social housing waiting list within the timeframe noted above. Households that have been included on the transfer list and those in accommodation provided under RAS or HAP will not be required to update their files and, therefore, will not receive any correspondence in this regard.
  5. What will I have to do?
  6. Applicants who receive this letter will be asked to complete a form, provide updated information and supporting documentation where relevant and return this information to Louth County Council. The information provided by each applicant will be reassessed under the Social Housing Assessment Regulations 2011 (as amended) taking into consideration the applicant’s eligibility and need.
  7. When and where should I submit the information?
  8. The completed form and all relevant supporting documentation must be returned to Louth County Council at one of the following four locations before 5 pm on Friday, 16th September 2022:

                                             Civic Offices, Fair Street, Drogheda, Co Louth A92 P440

Millennium Centre, County Hall, Dundalk, Co Louth A91 KFW6

                                             Town Hall, Crowe Street, Dundalk, Co Louth A91 W20C

                                             Mid Louth Civic Services Centre, Fair Green, Ardee, Co Louth A92 RYT2

  1. What will happen if I do not return the information requested?
  2. If you fail to return the completed form and all supporting documentation within the specified timeframe, your application for social housing support will be terminated.
  3. Who do I contact with queries regarding completion of the form or the information required?

All future lettings of social housing units will be made from this assessment.   Therefore, it is essential that applicants who are contacted by Louth County Council  in relation to the Summary of Social Housing Assessments 2022 return completed forms and all supporting documentation before 5 pm on Friday, 16th September 2022.
