Parking on Footpaths-Increase in Fines

Parking fines will double to €80 from Tuesday 1st February 2022 for the following offences:

  • Parking a vehicle on a footway, a grass margin or a median strip
  • Parking a vehicle in a cycle track where traffic sign number RUS 009, RUS 058 or RUS 059 is provided, and
  • Parking a vehicle in a bus lane or on a bus only street

These new fine levels will be implemented for contraventions by an Garda Siochana and by Local Authorities.
