Louth County Council has secured funding from the Department of Agriculture Food and the Marine for Infrastructure works at Port Oriel and Annagassan as part of the Brexit Adjustment Local Authority Marine Infrastructure Scheme 2022 – 2023.

 

The council intend to appoint a contractor to deliver the following improvement, enhancement and upgrading  works.

 

At Annagassan Port:

-Car park resurfacing works

-New drainage and gullies to be installed

-Handrail to be installed around perimeter of the car park/footpath

-New LED lighting heads to be installed

-0.5 tonne crane to be installed and associated electrical works

-Remove and replace access ladders

 

At Port Oriel, Clogherhead

-New drainage channel to be installed

-Install new LED lighting heads

-Remove units along pier and replace with prepay Rolec units in new location. Including associated electrical works

-Extend port quay walls in concrete

-Install new LED lighting heads

-Install new anchor piles

-Install new winch and associated electrical works

-Install control measures at port entrance

-Remove and replace access ladders

-Waste management area

  

It is anticipated that works will commence in the coming weeks with completion date of 1st November 2023. Please be advised that during the construction phase there will be restricted access to the ports.
