Status Yellow High Temperature warning extended

Met Éireann has extended the current Status Yellow High Temperature Warning until 9:00am, Saturday 27 June. Daytime temperatures may exceed 27°C, with overnight temperatures possibly remaining above 15°C.

Conditions may also change quickly, with a risk of thunderstorms possible this evening and tomorrow, bringing dangerous lightning, torrential rainfall, localised flash flooding, large hail, and strong, damaging wind gusts.

The public are advised to:

  • Follow Met Éireann forecasts and weather warnings.
  • Stop outdoor activities and move indoors immediately if you hear thunder
  • Avoid travel during heavy rain unless essential
  • If roads are flooded, turn around and use an alternative route
  • Never walk, cycle or drive through floodwater
  • Stay alert and be ready to act if conditions change
