Notice of Intention to Close Roads to facilitate Resurfacing Works 17 to 21 August 2026

LOUTH COUNTY COUNCIL

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF ROAD - Section 75 Roads Act, 1993

(Roads Regulations 1994)

Louth County Council hereby gives notice of its intention to close;

Dundalk – Carlingford Regional Road (R173) in the vicinity of Bellurgan National School from its junction with Ballymac Roundabout (R132) to its junction with Regional Road (R174) (Rockmarshall)

To vehicular traffic between the hours 8pm to 6am each night commencing on Monday 17 August to Friday 21 August 2026 to facilitate road resurfacing works in the vicinity of Bellurgan National School (R-173-25). Local access and emergency access will be maintained.

Diversion Route East: East Bound traffic approaching the (R173) will be diverted north along (R132) Old Newry Rd, at Feede Roundabout east along (R-174-0) and thereafter south along (R-174), to its junction with (R-173) at Rockmarshall.

Diversion Route West: West Bound Traffic on the R173 will be diverted north along (R-174), to its junction with the (R132) at Feede  Roundabout and thereafter south along the  (R-132) Old Newry Rd to its junction with the R173 at Ballymac Roundabout.

 Any person who wishes to object to this closure should lodge an objection in writing (envelope clearly marked “Road Closure Objection”) to the undersigned or via Louth County Council’s Online Consultation Portal using the following link, not later than 5pm on Tuesday 28 July, 2026
