Louth Science Festival 2026
Louth Science Festival Returns at your Local Library for 2026!
7-21 November 2026
Louth Science Festival returns from 7 to 21 November 2026, bringing two weeks of exciting science events to libraries and communities across County Louth.
This year's theme, Water: From Molecule to Ocean, explores the science of water and its vital role in our environment, health, and future. Supported by Research Ireland and Creative Ireland, the festival offers a diverse programme of fun, free, and engaging experiences for people of all ages.
With more than 60 events taking place throughout the county, including workshops, talks, school visits, and community programmes, there is something for everyone to enjoy and discover. The events listed below are public events and require advance booking. In addition, a range of pre-booked festival activities for schools and groups will take place across all library branches during the festival period.
We are also delighted to present the festival's first-ever Science Festival Family Day, taking place on Sunday, 15 November at the Dolmen Centre, Omeath.
Full programme details and booking information will be available from Tuesday October 27th. To book your place and stay connected follow our social media @louthlibraryservice and join us as we discover Water: From Molecule to Ocean.
