Louth County Council has completed a full repair and upgrade of the automatic bollards on Earl Street, Dundalk.
The system is now fully operational again following a permanent fix.
The works carried out included:
- Repairing damage to the hydraulic unit in the faulty bollard
- Installing a new FAAC control panel and a new FAAC City JE275 bollard
- Rewiring both bollards and reinstating all safety devices and traffic lights
- Replacing a faulty light on one bollard and faulty buzzers on both
- Testing ground loops, traffic lights and reinstating transmitters
- Reprogramming and issuing new access fobs to local businesses
The Council would like to remind the public that Earl Street remains a no‑parking zone, with access restricted to permitted deliveries only.
Louth County Council would also like to thank local businesses and the community for their cooperation during these improvement works.
