Louth County Council Launches “Louth in Bloom 2021” Competition.

10th May 2021: Louth County Council wishes to acknowledge and honour the work being carried out by volunteers, community groups and individuals, during these difficult and restrictive times, to enhance and brighten the environs of every town and village throughout the County.  Therefore the Council in 2021 is announcing for a second year in a row its “Louth In Bloom competition”. Competition entrants are invited to submit images of the great work that they have undertaken, and following an adjudication process a series of prize winners will be selected from the list of entries.

Speaking at the launch of the competition Cathaoirleach, Councillor Dolores Minogue remarked” I would like to fully endorse the Louth in Bloom competition that is being organised by Louth County Council. The last couple of years have been very challenging for us all and I am mindful of the efforts that people and business make to enhance the environment, in which we live.

Commenting at the launch Chief Executive, Joan Martin said “we had to alter the format of our annual environmental competition in 2020 and this new format was a tremendous success. Working within the public health guidelines our new competition format allows us to safely engage with communities and recognise the marvellous work that people undertake to beautify their community and our county.

The categories in “Louth In Bloom 2021” completion include: Best gardens, best housing estates and biodiversity projects, hospitality and business premises. Prizes will be awarded for each of the three district areas of Ardee, Drogheda and Dundalk, with an overall county winner in each category.
